Hey, traveler! At GetupAfrica LLC, we’re all about making your African adventure—think Serengeti safaris, Kilimanjaro treks, or Zanzibar beach vibes—absolutely epic. But sometimes, life throws a curveball, and you need to cancel or change plans. No stress! This Refund Policy explains how we handle cancellations and refunds for our tours. We’ve kept it simple and clear, but if you’ve got questions, hit us up. Let’s make sure your journey with us is smooth, even if plans shift!
1. Cancellations by You

If you need to cancel your tour, just let us know in writing (email to
[email protected] works great). Our refund rules depend on when you cancel and the type of tour you booked:
More than 60 Days Before Your Tour: Get a full refund, minus a small processing fee (usually 5% to cover our costs). We’ll get that sorted quick!
30–60 Days Before Your Tour: You’ll get 50% of your payment back, unless the tour’s marked as non-refundable (we’ll always tell you upfront at booking).
Less than 30 Days Before Your Tour: Sorry, no refunds at this point—our guides and partners are all set to make your trip awesome. But reach out, and we’ll see if we can work something out, like rescheduling.
No-Shows: If you miss your tour without letting us know, we can’t offer a refund. Our guides are ready and waiting, so please give us a heads-up if you can’t make it!
Pro tip: Check your tour’s specific cancellation terms when booking, as some (like special group treks) might have stricter rules.
2. Cancellations by Us
Sometimes, stuff beyond our control—like crazy weather, safety concerns, or local issues—forces us to cancel a tour. If that happens:
We’ll give you a full refund, no questions asked, or offer you a spot on a similar tour at no extra cost.
We’ll notify you as soon as we know, so you can plan accordingly.
Note: We’re not responsible for extra costs, like flights or hotels you booked separately. We super recommend getting travel insurance for those!
3. Changes to Your Tour
If we need to tweak your tour (like changing the itinerary or guide due to unexpected events), we’ll do our best to keep it just as amazing. If the change is major and you’re not happy, contact us within 7 days of the notice, and we’ll discuss options, like a partial refund or moving you to another tour. We’re here to make it right!
4. Non-Refundable Scenarios
Some things don’t qualify for refunds, just so you know:
Non-Refundable Tours: Some tours, like limited group safaris or special events, are marked non-refundable at booking. We’ll make this crystal clear when you sign up.
Extra Costs: Things like travel insurance, visas, or personal expenses (e.g., gear for a Kilimanjaro trek) aren’t covered by our refunds.
Partial Use: If you start a tour but leave early (say, you skip a day of a wine tour), we can’t refund the unused portion.
5. How Refunds Work
Processing: Refunds go back to your original payment method (credit card, etc.). It usually takes 7–14 business days, depending on your bank.
Fees: Any bank or payment processing fees (like for international transfers) might come out of your refund—sorry, that’s outta our control!
Disputes: If you think something’s off with your refund, let us know right away. We’ll work with you to sort it out fair and square.
